👋 Getting Started

Welcome to Krowl — your personal bookmark hub. This page will help you get the most out of your experience.

📌 Bookmark Cards ▾

Bookmark cards are the tiles on your main page. Each card links to a website.

■ Square Cards

Square cards (120×120px) are great for compact grids. They show an icon and optionally the site title below it.

▬ Wide Cards

Wide cards (252×120px) sit side-by-side with the icon on the left and the title on the right. Great for sites with long names.

🎨 Card Backgrounds

Each card can have a solid colour, a gradient chosen from presets, or a custom image URL as its background. You can also hide the card title for a cleaner look.

🔗 Sub-links (up to 10)

Each card can have up to 10 sub-links — secondary URLs related to the main site. A small dot in the bottom-right corner of a card indicates sub-links are present. Hold the card to open the sub-link menu.

🖱 Left Click Open the bookmark link in the current tab
🖱 Right Click on card Open card context menu (open, edit, delete…)
🖱 Right Click on page Open page menu (new bookmark, settings…)
⏱ Hold card (1 second) Open the card's sub-link menu
↕ Drag & Drop Drag cards to reorder them on the page
📱 Long Press (mobile) Opens the card context menu on touch devices

The hold duration can be adjusted in Settings → Interactions. Administrators can set a global default for all users.

➕ Creating & Editing Bookmarks ▾
To create a bookmark:
  • Right-click anywhere on the bookmark page and choose New bookmark, or
  • Press N on your keyboard
To edit a bookmark:
  • Right-click the card and choose Edit
Bookmark fields:
Site Name Displayed on the card (required)
URL Must start with http:// or https://
Icon URL Optional — auto-detected from the site favicon
Background None, solid colour, gradient preset, or image URL
Sub-links Up to 10 secondary links per card

New bookmark N
Go to Home G then H
Go to Profile G then P
Go to Settings G then S
Go to About G then A
Go to Help G then ?
Close menu / modal Esc

Shortcuts are disabled when you are typing in an input field.
